SWEENEY TODD

It's like Romeo and Juliet meets....Cannibalism

Stephen Sodeheim did a great job composing these songs for non-experienced singing actors.  They actually all sounded pretty decent.

I was impressed by Sasha Baren Cohen's (aka BORAT) performance and high note at the end of the Elixir song.

And as ALWAYS, Tim Burton does a remarkable job of making pale-faced,  dirty looking, dark people and things, look UGLY and yet timeless.. not that all timeless things are beautiful...

Lessons learned: Never piss off your barber..they can kill you...OR never go to a barber that co-owns any type of FOOD establishment.

JUNO

Juno was an excellent film.

I dont know what was better about this movie...

-the fact that her name is Juno and they called her June-bug

-how she got pregnant in an old brown armchair

-how the dude from Superbad was in it

-how the Superbad dude was addicted to Orange one-calorie TicTacs

-Ellen Page's striking resemblance to a young Janeane Garofolo

juno

-"You should go to China..cuz I heard they give away babies like free Ipods"

-how there is good indie music playing in the background every 3 minutes

-Allison Janney's awesome performance as her stepmom

-"Free condom? The're boysenberry. My boyfriend wears them everytime we have intercourse, it makes his junk smell like pie."

-Juno's sunglasses

Lessons learned: Protect yourself before your wreck yourself cause you don't want to be "skanky" or "toe up from the floor up." Also, never underestimate the local Penny Saver.

ATONEMENT- what does that mean, i dont know.

Ok...so for all you saps (like me) who LOVED Pride and Prejudice..here is my take on the Joe Wright film ATONEMENT...

atonement

It is definitely a love story, but by the end of the film I felt like I had watched a heart wrenching tragedy..There was a discomforting sunken feeling in the pit of my stomach.. like "you know the ship is gonna hit the iceberg and you know they're going to die anyway" type of feeling.

However James McAvoy and Keira Knightly gave very convincing performances, and lets admit it..when's the last time you saw a love scene with Keira pinned up against library shelves, HELLO?!?

greendress

Note to mention she rocked that long backless green dress like Madonna rocked cone bras...yess..

I classify fine films by those that within 1.5-2 hrs, can have you experience you a roller coaster of emotions. I was  enamoured by the connection between the two main roles,  depressed by the war scenes, enraged at the little snitch sister, disillusioned by the sister's confession, and eventually pitied and sympathized for the sister as she got older.

vanessa girls

Also, The cinematography was AMAZING.

Lessons learned: Tell the truth, you will be hella moded later on life if you don't.

Shiver me timbers, it's Happy Talk like a PIRATE DAY!! Arrrrrgh

feels like it was just yesterday...

Fact: Pirates ships did not have planks, hence they did not have captives walk a plank.

Fact: Pirates did not use treasure maps
